Position: Program Director
Michelle Dougherty
Michelle has been a camper and a staff member with Camp Winona since 2007. In her time here, she has served as a Camp Counselor, L.I.T. Counselor, Waterfront Coordinator, Village Coordinator, and now the Program Director.
Originally from Ohio, she moved to Florida when she was 10 and lived in Ormond Beach for 14 years. As she grew up, she eventually went to Rollins College and graduated with a degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, as well as Studio Art.
Michelle’s reason for being at camp is: To help make a difference in the lives of the kids and families who come here to experience the magic of Camp Winona.
Her favorite camp meal is: Cheese quesadillas (or at least it’s the meal she eats most often).
Her Favorite activity is: Kayaking on the lake.
Her favorite camp quote is: “Camp Winona is a place in the woods that finds a place in the heart”.
When she is not hard at work she enjoys: Walking around and exploring camp with her dog, Benny.
For this summer she is looking forward to: Meeting all the new campers and getting to reconnect with returning campers.
